Background Information

 The Parents and Citizens Association (“P&C”) is an integral part of Gladesville Public School.  The P&C works together with teachers and parents to assist in the running of our school, to provide extra resources and to foster our great school community.

The P&C meets on the last Wednesday of each month at 7.30 p.m. in the staffroom.  These meetings provide an excellent opportunity for parents to hear the Principal and Assistant Principal talk about school and educational issues.  Parents are also encouraged to raise and discuss issues relating to our school and the community.

Important decisions are also made at P&C meetings such as the allocation of funds raised by the P&C. These funds are used to buy items requested by teachers and parents to enhance the resources available to our children at the school.  In March 2007, the P&C allocated approximately $30,000 to technology, literacy, maths and school ground refurbishments.

The P&C also co-ordinates and manages the following:

Uniform Shop - stocks Gladesville Public School uniforms and accessories at reasonable prices. This is a significant source of income for the P&C so we appreciate your support.

Grounds Committee - assists in the maintenance of the school grounds by activities such as working bees and line-marking of fields, etc.

Fundraising Committee - organises events to raise funds to provide extra equipment and facilities for the school. Also communicates with Class Parents and P&C members who run other activities such as Mother’s/Father’s Day stalls and lunchtime BBQs

Music Committee - assists the school in running various co-curricular music activities such as band and choir.
